Lindsay Quillen, LCSW

Lindsay earned her Master’s in Social Work with concentrations in Administration and Practice with Older Adults from the University of Connecticut where she is now an Adjunct Professor for their Aging and Mental Health graduate course. Lindsay earned her Bachelor of Science from Springfield College. Lindsay is a Connecticut Licensed Certified Insurance Consultant and Licensed in Massachusetts as a Health Insurance Advisor and a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW). She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and sits on the Committee on Aging for the Connecticut Chapter. No stranger to program development and Medicare training, Lindsay has had the honor of presenting on best practices for outreach and education to Medicare beneficiaries at national and regional conferences including the National SHIP (State Health Insurance assistance Program) Conference in 2011 and co-presenting in 2008, the National Medicare Training Program- Boston Regional Training in 2010, the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging Annual Conference and Tradeshow in 2010, and the Regional AIRS Conference in 2010.
Lindsay is a dynamic and engaging educator, commended for expertise in the areas of Medicare coverage and available options for Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers. A strong advocate for the rights of her clients, Lindsay has seen first hand the devastating effects that ill-informed healthcare decisions can have on individuals and their families. As a result, Lindsay founded Medicare Mentors in 2011 to honor her unequivocal passion to empower individuals to be informed consumers of their retirement healthcare coverage through education and guidance. Lindsay believes full and complete understanding of one’s Medicare benefits and options will result in fiscally sound coverage decisions. Lindsay brings her education and diverse experience working with the aging and disabled populations in the community, institutional, and policy settings to the forefront of Medicare Mentors. That, combined with her passion to provide individuals with professional guidance as they navigate the increasingly complex and costly world of retirement healthcare, makes Lindsay an unparalleled ally for those seeking to gain greater control over their retirement.
